My songs...
I think the music one listens to is dynamic, which is why I'm sharing these here. I listen to these songs on my smartphone (previously an iPod) with earbuds and each song is individually selected—there are very few entire albums unless every song is a gem (where the same artist is repeatedly listed the songs may be from the same album). Most of these songs are decades old but they are so good I never tire of hearing them. For years I shared these songs on my website as playable MP3s but I was forced to remove them, so now I only provide this list. My songs range in genres from Jazz, Rock, Pop, Fusion, to Classical and others. I listen to this music using playlists when I walk the dogs (we have 2 dogs). I use an app called iSyncr that transfers music and playlists from iTunes on my PC to my Android phone.

You will notice that my listening tastes are pretty dated. I got a lot of this music when I was a student at Berklee College of Music in Boston in the 70s. I guess I think jazz peaked at that time. I have broadened my tastes beyond the jazz I loved so much at one time (see Favorite albums), and for nostalgic reasons I listen to a lot of pop music from the 70s. My music is on my phone in one pants pocket, and my earbuds are in a case in another pants pocket, so I can listen to music anytime I want to.

The songs are listed as "Artist - Song title"—to credit a composer it is in the format "Artist - Composer~Song title."

For you programmers, this list is created and displayed by perl scripts: listsongs.pl (to create the list from a folder of songs on my PC) and viewsongs.pl (to display on this page via Ajax) on a Linux server.

See my Music page for more on my music interests.
