Our third house (second Hingham house), purchased in 2015 When we bought this house on Otis Hill it had 2 full bathrooms—one on the 2nd floor and another in the unfinished basement, but no bathroom on the main floor. We added an addition you see on the left that has the new master bedroom & master bathroom and a half-bathroom off the living room, so we added 2 bathrooms on the main floor and the house now has 3½ bathrooms. We removed 2 fireplaces and the chimney (and added a gas fireplace). We also attached the existing garage to the house with a mudroom and laundry room, finished the basement (it's my carpeted "man-cave" now and has an office), and added a 2nd garage beneath the master bedroom (accessible from a new driveway going to the back). The front door was enhanced with a portico, dormers were added to the roof, and shrubbery has been added to the front of the house. It's interesing that the new outside door we added to the mudroom near the driveway has become the main entrance to the house. After remodeling the house was much bigger than when we purchased it (1200 Sq. ft. originally to 3200 Sq. ft. after remodeling).
